How many people can say they really enjoy going to work every day? Well. I can say that. I really love the staff at Danville Support Services. I find this type of work to be extremely rewarding. At the end of the day, I know I have helped someone and that’s a great feeling.

One of the best things about our company is attitude. I love how everyone cares for one another, has a strong work ethic and has a sense of humor. This is exactly what I would want in a caregiver.

But enough about me, I want to share stories about our staff, as they are all dedicated, loyal and caring. However, this is a blog, not a book, so I will begin with just a just few :-)

Meet Suzy (Payroll/Billing Director)

“In 2002, I came to Danville Support Services to find something different from what I had been doing,” says Suzy.

“Working with a non-profit organization had drained me of energy and I was looking for a way to refuel.”

Serving people in need helps Suzy to feel the human connection.

“It is also a bit of karma,” she says. “I believe that, as I help a person, someone in another place may be providing that same care to a person dear (but not near) to me.”

I am proud to be part of this organization,” says Suzy. “Danville has helped connect me once again to the importance of simple activities as an important part of quality of life.”

Meet Alexis (Staff Director and Case Manager)

“As Staff Director at Danville Supports, I get the opportunity to meet the caregivers from the point of hire, then meet with them for trainings, questions and just personal problems that arise in all our lives,” says Alexis, who has been with the company since 2005.

“I have learned so much about people and life during this time.”

Alexis also talks to family members that are faced with making decisions about their mom or dad. “I find it extremely rewarding to be allowed in some of the most heart felt moments of a lot of their lives,” says Alexis.

Naturally, Alexis also meets with the person requiring services. She listens to how they feel, how important family is to them and how they want their families to come together as families, which is something Danville’s caretakers help facilitate.

So there you have it, just a few stories about exceptional people. No wonder Danville Support Services won the “Best of Home Care Award” for the second year in a row.
